AnMa-TECH offers the option of supporting the controlled loosening and tightening of bolted connections using hydraulic tools. Our professionals can quickly relax/tighten bolt connections and accurately achieve the prescribed tightening value. This greatly reduces the risk of leaks or other inconveniences. Roughly speaking, we work with 2 methods to loosen or tighten bolted connections: torquing and bolt tensioning.
Torquing and tensioning:
- Torquing: In torquing, bolt tension is established by tightening a nut using a torque wrench. This tightening method involves overcoming a lot of frictional force. Approximately 85% of the energy is used to overcome frictional forces. Approximately 15% of the energy is used to tighten the nut and therefore set the torque.
- Bolt tensioning: Pulling on a bolt to apply tension is called bolt tensioning. This is done by means of a hydraulic jack. This is placed over the threaded side of the bolt where a puller is turned on the jack. As soon as the jack is pressurized, space is created between the flange and the nut, after which it can be manually tightened or loosened.
